Smart glasses project has a huge potential to change the
life style of many Blind or Impaired people, by allowing them a greater
independence in everyday life. People are giving feedback that they could see
the faces and expressions much better, have greater confidence when walking
around darkened or unfamiliar areas.
Aira and RNIB are famous companies, working on
designing such gadgets to make life a little easier for blind and visually
impaired people.

A blind person can navigate the world using whatever tools
he/she is using. Smart glasses help impaired or blind people to identify the
shapes of the things, determine the distance and also can detect the objects
away up to three meters.
Smart glasses have a transparent display. Lenses appear
clear and allow eyes to be seen.
There are two cameras are the front of the glasses which
adjust the location of your eyes to identify the distance for stereoscopic
vision.
It works good both during the day and night.
It has the ability to adjust on different eye conditions.
The main purpose of this project is to develop the a
commercially viable product which should be affordable, intuitive and
practical.

Many of the people took part in UK in testing and some
people had the opportunity to take home a pair of smart glasses for a month. And
the feedback was very humbling. So now, Smart glasses makers are now looking at
the strengths and weaknesses of their glasses and trying to make them even
better.
