This battery will be three times more powerful than any
other battery in the world, said by Elon Musk in South Australia. And this will
be a great revolution for future.
It will be an other biggest thing in Australia after the Big
Banana, Big Prawn, and the Big Pineapple.
In March 2017, Australian Solar and Battery Storage Company
Lyon Group announced that they would start building the World’s biggest battery
and solar farm, which show that this is not a first major battery project to
come to South Australia.
Now, at the end of the year, Tesla is building up a team
with French-based renewable energy company Neoen to build the world’s largest
lithium-ion batteries in South Australia.
This largest battery will really take a large amount of
load, which will be a good example for the world said by CEO Tesla, Elon Musk.
“ This is definitely the way of the future, and i think other states will be
taking a closer look at this and seeing if it’s applicable to their needs. And
i suspect in most cases it is.”
The infrastructure project would put South Australia at the
forefront of global energy storage technology, said by Jay weatherill, Premier
of South Australia on Twitter and Facebook on July 07, 2017.
The Company says the battery will be charged by using energy
from the nearby Horns-dale wind farm and will deliver energy during peak usage
hours to help maintain supply through over the state. The capacity of the
battery will be of 100 MW/129 Megawatt-hours will be based in Jamestown, South
Australia.
This is the third largest state of Australia, which has
struggled this month to secure a stable energy supply for their population. In
Sept 2016, due to a storm South Australia faced huge power outage. And they
much of the area was in darkness. The solution was only to spend money to earn
money. Their last year funds was establish about $38 million venture capital
fund to promote the innovation and attract new VC and also encourage
technological companies to come towards the South Australia. State also said to
support new businesses from conception to product development by the help of
money. They are trying to give more money to local university’s to initiate the
advanced manufacturing and engineering spaces.
Then the head of Tesla’s battery division, Elon Musk said, “
Tesla will get the system installed and working 100 days from contract
signature or it is free. That serious enough for you?” ( March 10, 2017)
Elon
Musk said on July 07, 2017, “ This will be the highest power battery system in
the world by a factor of 3. Australia rocks.” And they will try to make it look
good by nicely arranging the white obelisks, will look like they are unearthed
from the future. And there is going to be a lot of people looking at it.
