Toyota Motor Corporation is trying to improve the Toyota EV car performance and charging timing. They are working on a new type of battery that increase the range of driving and minimize the charging time, will be available for public in 2022.

Toyota EV car (Electric Vehicle) will use solid state batteries, which will be charged with in few minutes. Most of the Electric vehicles take much time to charge and also give low millage range. But in future, Toyota EV car will use lithium-ion batteries. They will need just on 20 to 30 minutes to recharge with fast chargers and they will provide you a range of 300 to 400 kilometers (185-250 miles).

A Toyota spokesman said the company could not immediately comment on the report.
Japan’s automaker giant is looking to fill the gap with EV car leaders such as Nissan Motor Co and Tesla Inc as Battery-powered cars gain traction around the world as a viable emission-free alternative to conventional cars. Toyota has decided to sell the new model in Japan as early as 2022.

Toyota is also planning to start mass-producing EV cars in China, which is the worlds largest auto-market. Early in 2019, that model would be based on the existing C-HR sport utility vehicle and use the lithium-ion batteries.

No one can say that Toyota will be able to do that or not, because this mass production requires a far more highest level of quality control and reliability.

CLSA auto analyst Christopher Richter said: “There’s a pretty long distance between the lab bench and manufacturing. 2022 is ages away, and a lot can change in the meantime.” How quickly the new EV car will catch on would also depend largely on cost of battery.

Hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles and plug-in hybrids are the most sensible technology to make car most reliable. Toyota said last year that they wanted to add long-range EV car to set up a new in-house unit, headed b President Akio Toyoda, to develop and market EV cars.

Solid-state batteries use electrolytes to make them safer than lithium-ion batteries currently on the market.

Other giant automaker company's such as BMW are also working on developing solid-state batteries, eyeing mass production in the upcoming years.
